Unpacking Homelessness
For our debut installation, Unpacking Homelessness, we partnered with Path With Art, a Seattle-based nonprofit organization that fosters the restoration of individuals, groups, and society from the effects of trauma through arts engagement and community building. The artists who designed this series of posters for Pearl Jamβs The Home Shows come from diverse backgrounds, but the majority have found themselves living without a place to call home at some point in their lives, and all have found solace in the arts.
Path with Art transforms the lives of people in recovery from homelessness, addiction, and other trauma by harnessing the power of creative engagement as a bridge to community and a path to stability. Participant artists are referred to Path with Art from over 30 social service partners in the greater Seattle area. Many of these social services work directly on the issue of housing, with the understanding that homelessness is a complex issue requiring a vast range of support.
Prints are for sale at MAC, located at 94 Pike in Seattle. Purchasing prints from this exhibit supports these artists and Path with Art.
